Back In The Big Apple

Friends,
News ahead - which I shall remind you of as the date approaches - I'm back in New York on the weekend of November 14-16 for the Big Apple Con at the Pennsylvania Hotel. My last visit to one of those shows was in '06, at which I had a terrific time, and the organisers have been kind enough to ask me back for another. I'll be there from 1-8 on Friday, 10-7 on Saturday, and 10-5 on Sunday - and sharing a panel with the great Bryan Talbot at sometime not yet specified. If you're in the city or coming to the city for the show, make sure you come along and say hi.

If It's Friday It Must Be Birmingham...

Friends,
One more trip before I start serious brush-wielding again... The International Comics Show in Birmingham this weekend - see www.thecomicsshow.co.uk. if you're a late ticket-buyer. I'll be there for much of the daylight time at the Asylum table from 10.30 - 18.15 on Saturday, and from 10.30 - 17.30 on Sunday. Please do come and say hi if you're around in that great city, or are going to visit it for this event.

Another Great Goes

Friends,
Came back from Belgrade to hear that the great Paul Newman has gone. A great actor, a supporter of honourable political causes, a charitable man, and a real star with style. Was in one of my favourite movies - The Moving Target ( Harper in the US ) - and WUSA, Hombre, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, Hud, The Hustler, Drowning Pool, Absence of Malice, The Verdict, Winning, Cool Hand Luke. See any of those you've missed, if you've missed any of them - and you'll be doing yourself a big favour.
More on my matters, later - but, for now, just this appreciation of yet another class act sadly gone who, fortunately, has left us a terrific legacy of work to enjoy for as long as there are screens to view it on.
